Pitsilkas hand-made luxury furniture @ GDGE 2017

This summer, June 29 - July 23, at the Contemporary Space of Athens (a place created in Greece by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum for Architecture and Design in collaboration with the European Centre for Architecture, Design and Urban Studies) people from Athens had the chance to see more than 150 works of art by 38 Greek designers, who met and joined their forces for their first time.

The event was organised by the famous Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in collaboration with Good Design Awards. The awards, the oldest institution about design globally, were established in 1950 and they have been indispensable part of the programme of the New York Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Almost seven decades later after their establishment the organisation of Good Design Awards, joined by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum for Architecture and Design, is trying to keep this spirit alive all over the world by demonstrating the design excellence. The annual museum programme includes exhibitions in various central places, both in Europe and the USA.

This year, in Good Design Greece Exhibition 2017, the categories were the following: Industrial Design, Textile Design, Environmental / Interior Design, Furniture Design, Graphic Design / Packaging. Pitsilkas hand-made luxury furniture collection was exhibited for the first time in Greece. The quality of materials along with the strict design criteria and perfect manufacturing were the furniture features praised by visitors, who were particularly impressed.
